Evenin' folks! I was recently challenged on that wonderful social media outlet, Facebook, to complete a list of things I am grateful for. Now on Facebook the challenge states that for a week you must list 3 things you're thankful or grateful for and I changed this up a bit. Instead of posting everyday... Because this clogs up the news feeds and no one likes that... I figured I would just post 21 things here and let those who are truly interested in reading them find the article here.
So here it goes people... My list of 21 reasons why I am thankful and or grateful;
- I am thankful for the strength of family that stands behind me and supports me in times of need and success.
- From that family, I am blessed to say that my Momma is one of my absolute best friends and I strive to be half the woman she is.
- I am thankful for the life I had as a child and the opportunities that were placed before me that allowed me to grow and thrive into my teenage years as well as now in my young adult life.
- I was extremely blessed to be given two of the best parents in the world. They have held my hand, pushed me harder, stood their ground, and been my friend through all stages of life. They have also taught me it's okay to be wrong and to admit my mistakes when necessary.
- I am thankful for my education and the experiences that came from all those years in both high school and undergrad in west by god.
- There was a time I thought I would never say this.. but I am so thankful for my past. I have learned so much about myself, my emotions, my expectations, and the actions of other people.
- In addition to my past, I am thankful for the independence I gained from those experiences and to have finally found my inner strength that everyone has been telling me about all these years.
- I could probably fill all of these with my love and gratitude to my friends. Talk about a support group, I have been so blessed to have been given the girlfriends I have. Those select ladies have stood by my side through times of depression, angst, happiness, and celebration. I will never be able to fully express my love for these girls. They are certainly part of my soul.
- In addition to my bestfriends, I am thankful for my Rylie and Jax. There is no truer love than a love from a dog and to have two in my life is a great feeling.
- I am thankful for the woman I am becoming and the journey my life is taking me.
- In this journey to true womanhood, I am thankful my relationship with God grows stronger. It seems as each year passes I have a better understanding of religion and how our lives take place within it.
- I am thankful to have the honor to be an Aunt to the most beautiful little girl in the world. I know I don't spend near enough time with her, but the feelings of joy and happiness I have when I see her playing or hear her laughter are endless and stick with me, always.
- I am grateful for the 4-H program I grew up in and the memories I have of my experiences. I fully believe it was through 4-H I learned my core values, responsibility, and formed the passion of agriculture that I still carry with me today.
- To the role models in my life, and you know who you are... Thank you for the years of molding, shaping, and never giving up on me when my hard head ways were rather trying. I went through some personal dark times and to have strong, positive influences in my life pulled me through some of my most difficult days.
- I am thankful for the life I have been given and blessed with. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Life has a crazy way of throwing curve balls and there are times where it seems like the next day will never come, but I have learned that the beauty of life comes from making it through the tough times and seeing the clear skies once you make it.
- I am thankful to have the opportunity to prove myself in my career field. All my life I have been shown closed doors and no one wanted to take a chance on me, but after years of hard work and dedication and pushing on even when it seemed like hope was lost.. I found a company, my dream company, that was willing to give me a chance to see what I have to offer them and I could not be more excited or grateful for this opportunity!
- To my grandparents, Mema and Pops. I am so thankful to have the both of you in my life. The life lessons and laughter I have gained from both of you will always be held close to my heart. I am also thankful to have you in my adult life, as each year I grow, my understanding and gratitude for you both grows. I love you both immensely.
- I am thankful for my horse. Now this may sound silly for those non-horse people out there.. but I am thankful for Gobi. My secret keeper, bad day handler, and 1,000s of other roles he has played. He was my first true love, my first taste of responsibility, and my bestfriend. The countless memories I have either on his back or laying in the field while he grazed are irreplaceable.
- To my guy... Thank you for the constant support and encouragement. The shoulder to cry on and a helping hand when I'm down. Tough days seem easier just by having you around.
- I am thankful to be able to write this list. For both the technology to do so and the amount of things in my life I am grateful for. It's funny how much love I feel by simply just thinking about the things in my life that are so, so good.
- And lastly, I'm thankful for me. This probably seems a little selfish and self-centered but at the end of the day, all we have are ourselves so why not be thankful for that? I'm thankful for my experiences, opportunities, and in general; my life. I've gained courage and strength over these last few years and I can honestly say I welcome and embrace change as it always seems to come my way.
There you have it my friends. My list of 21 things I am thankful for. I am certain there are several things I didn't list and a few things I like to keep personal for my own self reflections but that is the nitty gritty.
Thank you to those who follow my blog (blob) and have kept up with me through all of these experiences. I've said it before and I'll say it a million more times... I am so blessed to be loved by so many.
G'night and much love...
